Fall into these Fabulous Boots

Ok,  I’m finally back from outer space and now is the perfect time. Time to pack up those open toe sandals, as our beloved boot season has finally kicked off…which makes me (almost) more excited than if  I found out I could get a monthly box of orange and black Laduree macarons delivered to my door. (It is Halloweek you know)

Whether tall or slouchy, short or tall, cheap or ultra-luxe, this season your feet will be covered with the hottest boot trends for Fall/Winter. Now comes the hard part: What kind do you buy? I break up my look on a daily basis by wearing all types of boots depending on the mood of the day.  Ranging from modern combat clompers to classic suede pistol boots, the choices of women’s boots for fall are seemingly endless, but trust me, it’s that perfect mix of utility and sophistication that scores top billings.

I have done some fancy footwork to show you six of my favorite looks. Here is the crème de la crème.

Riding Boots.

Why I love them?
The epitome of equestrian chic, riding boots rarely go out of style. You get plenty of  bang for your buck with this style boot without ever needing to saddle up. They are easy to wear, give you a long lean look, and fit over any skinny jean.

 The Stacked Heel.

Why I love them?
With these boots it is easy to strut your stuff while actually being able to walk around town. They have a 70’s vibe written all over them. Pair them with leggings, skinny jeans, or a dress and you are good to go. And they are perfect for the vertically challenged like me. 🙂

Over the Knee.

Why I love them?

Sexy, sleek, and a little taboo, over-the-knee boots usually elicit a jaw-dropping reaction. Super sky high boots usually call for tight jeans instead of a dress or skirt to tone down the Pretty Woman factor.

Lace-Ups.

Why I love them?
Lace-up boots complement the menswear trend that is going on right now. These boots also conjure up thoughts of mystery, seduction, a notion of witchcraft, perfect for this time of year. This masculine/feminine androgenous combination happens to be right in line with Fall’s fetishistic trend.

The Ankle Wedge

Why I love them?
This modern and edgy look is favored by trend setters like Halle Berry, Sienna Miller, and other celebs. They’re comfortable, stylish, and don’t require much thought. I especially love the wedges with the rubberized bottoms. When you want a little extra height, but aren’t in the mood for a pin-thin stiletto heel, architectural wedges are the natural choice.

Fur and Shearling-lined

Why I love them?
Nothing is cozier than warm feet on those cold days. It lends a slightly rugged chill out kind of vibe to any t-shirt and jeans ensemble (think Aspen après-ski or Sundance Film Festival-chic), but can also look unbelievably posh if worn with a loose flowy dress. Wrap up your feet in fur and your feet will thank you later.

Whetever boot you choose, whatever look you love, find your style and love what you wear. In the next post I will share with you my current favorites.
