Absoleggy Fabulous for Spring
Hashtag #Absoleggy. I just made up my own word. Definition: a term used to describe a person with toned abs and long luscious legs. I am about to drop the bomb on you. The proper lady-like à la 1960’s suburban housewife trend is back in fashion, as you know by now, with longer hem lines, proper suits, retro florals, and mules that scream Spring 2012. On the contrary, lingerie was also central element. Here’s the bomb. It came in the form of bandeaus, and old-fashioned bloomers. These are proposed underpinnings for dressy stretch satin skirtsuits—or delicate, lacy slip dresses but are now worn solo. I am usually not daring enough to whip out my bra and drop my pants just for fashion’s sake and wear nothing on the streets. No, no, no. I would need the waif-like body of a 20-something model to pull that look off. I bet most of you would agree and are not interested in exploring that option. I would also refuse to bare an extra 3-6 inches of rib cage and butt cheeks. A trend I was fearful of until now, these lingerie looks— gals in bandeau tops and flippy skirts are just au courant. Get out your badge of confidence, (you will need it) take a few classes at Physique 57, (summer is coming) and I will take you to the wearable bra and panty section of my website for gentle perusal.

The premise here is simple: the skin-showing silhouettes this season on the midsection and the short shorts may have you terrified that your flaws (imagined or actual) are too visible to pull it off. You can fret that everybody is going to be staring at you or.. you can laugh in the face of fashion and wear what you please. See below for ideas on how I hope to translate this look from the runways into my own closet. Ultimately, you drive your own car in the wardrobe department. Go ahead take a test-drive.
