A Fashion Costume for Halloween

Halloween is hauntingly near, exactly 4 days away, and if you, like me, are saving your costume prep for the last minute, fret no more. We do have the weekend. Every year I am faced with the inevitable challenge of coming up with the perfect Halloween costume. Ideally, I choose something unique that will set me apart from the sexy devils and the pack of zombies. As with every sartorial challenge, I recommend turning to the runways for inspiration (there were pilots, fairies, race -car drivers, and others this season). My costume planning usually starts around August, ( last year I was a stellar Lady Gaga), but this year I was much delayed due to various trips out of the country and building my new fierce website. But, alas, after hours of brainstorming, I finally figured it out.

It’s true they say your fears come out in your dreams. My fear? That I can never finish all these blog posts, style my clients, keep up with Twitter and other social media, attend events, be a fabulous mom, take beautiful pictures, and communicate all my ideas with my readers without sacrifice. The truth? Playing on the allure of MY dream come true: doing it all. With the help of a highly efficient, incredibly talented, subservient assistant at my side to do everything for me.  It was an “Ah ha” moment. I would go as Siri for Halloween this year.

Have you met Siri yet?  The mind of Siri is incredible!  Siri on iPhone 4S lets you use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more. Basically, Siri is your personal assistant and makes the iPhone 4S the most amazing phone ever. I do need Siri in my life. Very Anne Hathaway in The Devil wears Prada. It would change my life dramatically. Just imagine the following situations:

“Where can I get that pumpkin latte?”

“Where can I find those Isabel Marant fringe boots that are sold out?”

“My client needs those Louboutin shoes right now. Please call a messenger.”

Nonetheless, here is my impromptu costume for Halloween. With a little imagination.. a hard hat, stark white shoes, a great attitude, and this incredibly, streamlined unencumbered outfit, I should be ready to orbit into outer space at a moment’s notice. All I have to do is ask my purple microphone.
