A Quick Escape
According to travel experts and our local news stations, the next few weeks promise to be a great time to get out of town for a quick jaunt before the start of the holiday season. Which means there is no time like the present to start thinking about your airport style and what you are going to put in that suitcase for a quick escape.
I don’t spend an inordinate amount of time jet-setting across the globe, so when I get the chance to board a flight, I am all things go. Packing requires an extremely tight edit—regardless of how fabulous your accoutrements may be. I like to share my go-to essentials—everything from my carry-on suitcase, to an in-flight moisturizer (two words: La Mer)—as well as a parallel universe if you want to get the look on a more conservative budget. If you’re planning any holiday travel, consider this your style road map. If you are a smart shopper, the promise of plane tickets to get to that beach that won’t break the bank means more money to spend on the items that go in your suitcase—because we all know a really good vacation calls for a really good wardrobe.
With a beach destination in mind, here are perfect looks for a quick escape just waiting for a good book. Must haves? A beach tote, flip flops, a hat, sunscreen, a towel, moisturizer, and the suitcase to put it all in. Even if your holiday break doesn’t involve a flight, you can run around your apartment or house pretending that you are on a beach.
