Fall Essentials
Just because fall is here doesn’t mean you have to get all blah with your clothing. Au contraire! Thanks to the unexpected hues on this season’s runways—like pale pink from 3.1 Phillip Lim—these colorful Prada totes out now, its time to break all those old dumb rules like about not wearing white after Labor Day.
The transition to fall/winter clothing isn’t easy to digest. Because you know right in front of us is a season of pale skin, frigid temps, and the non-ability to recognize anybody outside of their respective hat and scarves. Until Google Glass comes out, that is. There is always marrying the coat, with the sweater, with the bag, with the hat that makes is so challenging. You can stay opt to stay in your pajamas – a la Alexander Wang SS14 style, or venture out.
Today on the Fashion Hunter, in a tribute to the legendary rock star Lou Reed, who if you haven’t heard passed yesterday, let’s all skip our go-to black tote bag and drab brown coat combos and get a little more adventurous, shall we?
How about in the form of a Rachel Comey floral sweater, and Derek Lam plaid pants from last fall, the backpacks I talked about Saturday, (loving this fur rucksack by River Island), and a pair of Camper black ankle boots that are so comfortable they are my new go-to boot.
Here’s to inspiring some new autumn dressing rules. I love the combos of yellow and camel, naves and burgundys, and black florals mixed with orange and navy plaid. It’s time to take a walk on the wild side. End scene.
