Blue Light, Debunking Truth

Alo sweatshirt SHOP SIMILAR Varley sweatpants, SHOP SIMILAR      Visible light is more complex than you think. Stepping outdoors into sunlight; flipping on a wall switch indoors, turning on your computer, phone or other digital devices. All of these things result in your eyes being exposed to a variety of visible and invisible light rays. These rays have a range of effects. For example, you are probably aware that sunlight contains visible light rays and also invisible UV rays that can tan or burn the skin. Hello, sunburn! But what many of you don’t know, and I just learned, is that the visible light emitted by the sun comprises a range of different-colored light rays that contain different amounts of energy. I spend a lot of my... Read More

Holiday Party Outfit Idea

Delfi Collective dress Zara boots, SHOP SIMILAR  Aimee Kestenberg bag Yes!, it’s time to start shopping for the holidays. I know its only November, but Thanksgiving is just one week away! Last night I went to the first holiday window unveiling. And before you know it, it will be 2018. While putting up holiday decor and sending out cards might be a bit too early, it is never too early to start brainstorming a holiday party outfit idea. I usually go with denim for comfort because denim is my jam 24/7 but I decided to switch things up. This time of year is so great and I always feel overwhelming rushed. I don’t get enough sleep, and out all day and night at events to celebrate the... Read More

Non-Boring Sweater Report

Sezane sweater Lilienthal Berlin watch Re/Done jeans Sam Edelman boots Getting dressed in the winter really sucks. Due to major temperature fluctuations, layer upon layer goes in planning my daily outfits. Hello November. Hiding in my closet are those coats, the coat, now the star of the season. Another hidden perk is collecting all my wool sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, cashmere socks, and fuzzy boots from the cobwebs. Cool! And wearing the same turtlenecks from last season can be great, as long as they are not boring. Clothing will always excite me, but when its this cold, brrrr!, it’s a much harder task. With the upcoming holiday season, sequins, and all, the time is now to up your game. Luckily for you me and the collective us, there... Read More

Fanny Packs

photo: Lydia Hudgens  It didn’t hit me until I went to visit the MOMA’s new exhibit, Items: Is Fashion Modern? this past weekend. Fanny packs, one of the most beautiful and functional things to come from the fashion world, have finally earned their spot among other masterpieces in the Museum of Modern Art. Not only that, but on a more personal level, my first designer bag was a Prada nylon fanny pack. One of my favorites, it was black and fit a small wallet, and a flip phone. Now who can remember that? That bag is now in the hands of someone who stole it from me on one of my European trips. Now that bum pack is sorely missed. The fanny pack included in their... Read More

Weekend Getaway Upstate

It is so important to escape the city. We don’t even know how important it is to just get out of town until you get there. And unwind. No looking back. At least for 48 hours. Thanks to the yoga gals over here and a upgrade of the Catskills old time lodge, Scribner’s Lodge, I was able to pack in a quiet weekend away from the city. Away from the hustle and bustle. It was an amazing weekend getaway upstate. I haven’t been in Upstate New York in such a long time and it felt good to go back. I used to ski Hunter Mountain as a kid, but the Catskills really have changed. A lot. It’s quaint and spacious with beautiful rolling mountains. The trees... Read More

Red Alert

Sonia Rykiel top, SHOP SIMILAR BaubleBar earrings GRLFRND jeans Celine boots Vere Verto hip bag, SHOP SIMILAR When it comes to making a statement, the color red has more significance than any other color on the spectrum. This season, red is burning strong. Red is the bold lipstick, the sole of a designer shoe, the pop of color. It’s fierce, defiant, and definitely not for wallflowers. Simply put, red is the color of a woman in charge. As a blonde, I find it difficult to pick just the right shade of red, as they can vary drastically. Red comes in different tints, from wine to cherry to ruby. I have a color wheel that I carry around to clients to make sure they are getting the... Read More

Dusty Pink Florals

Ahh Fall. The season of crisp blue sky mornings, the smell of apples, off-the-shoulder chunky sweaters, pumpkin spiced-lattes, and cool nights. There’s just something so magical about the season. For me, when the days get a little shorter, and the air gets a little bit colder, I turn my attention to the art of layering.  I can recall when I was in high school, on my walks to and from home, the beauty of fall. Even back then, I loved wearing fall clothing. My go-to everyday uniform consisted of high-waisted jeans, a fluffy mohair sweater, a denim jacket, and clogs. And not much has changed.  For sure, football games and fall clothing were my jam. Not my homework. Now that my summer whites put away, my favorite... Read More
