Style a Slip Dress From Day To Night

I am passionate about many things. Some of those include taking care of myself and my family, eating organic food, laughing, travel, and reading. I also try to stay close with my friends, while taking in art, dining, and shopping. Lately though, I feel like I am living in an all-or nothing consumerist society. I am not a Generation Xer, I am rather out of that age range. Yet, to keep up with Instagram, fashion, restaurants, travel and the like, I must consume as part of that experience. I love to shop, which fuels my consuming addiction, and fosters a bad shopping habit. To curb the habit, I have been rewarding myself with things that don’t need to be consumed. Seeing friends, cooking delicious meals, and... Read More

Fall Colors

Fall is in full swing. First of all, the colors are abound in the tri-state region, Halloween has come and gone. Also, my Snapchat deer costume was a win-win all around. Talk about the weather? It has taken a back seat to the upcoming hostile election. But I digress. This blog is about style so what do to wear on these fickle days? I have got you covered in that department. This week’s challenges are days like today in the 70’s, and last week was in the low 50’s. Getting dressed can be a challenge, but I can fix the problem. What are my credentials? I am inspired by others and of course the streets of NYC. I check Instagram or head to the favorites... Read More

It Boots for Fall

It’s actually impossible to think about getting through the fall and winter months without the perfect pair of boots. Similarly, it would have been painful getting through summer 2016 without the ideal off-the-shoulder top or pair of cropped flares. Just not possible. While you probably have a go-to style already in your arsenal (maybe a classic black pair!), chances are your collection could use an update to feel current and fresh this season. Furthermore, refreshing your wardrobe with key styles is crucial before the super-cold weather really hits hard. Going out to dinner or to work in Uggs is a fashion fail for sure. It is of utmost importance that you get on the boot bandwagon and add the it boots for fall. Read this post, take notes of... Read More

Dress it Up

Fall is officially here. It was just last week that I wore this outfit at a high of 80 degrees in October. It was such a treat. This weekend was nearing the freezing mark so there goes wearing a T-shirt outside. But wait! The concept I started writing is still the same. Take a white T- shirt, and instead of throwing on a pair of jeans, dress it up! It makes me feel so much better about walking out the door when I dress sharp like a lady. The best fashion tips I have been given are to reach high and above your comfort zone and see what happens. For example, take a classic white shirt and throw a jumper over it. Add ruffles! Minimal... Arizona Postcard

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of going to The Boulders Resort and Spa in Arizona. The Boulders, a retreat surrounded by Boulders, cacti, bob cats and road runners, defines getting away from it all. Hard as it is for me to sit still, I barely left the property. I hiked, and took a balloon ride. Besides that, I plopped myself down on the lounge chair poolside. After all, the spa was gorgeous, just like an Arizona postcard. But, I felt anxious because my phone had died during the day and felt lost. First of all, It was the first time in a very long time that I considered myself addicted. To technology. And I hate it and complain about it but never actually... Read More

Fall Outfit To Wear

The best part of Fall is watching new television series starting with Crises in Six Series directed by my favorite New Yorker, Woody Allen. This past weekend, I watched Episode One, a successful ending to a planned day of apple picking that fell by the wayside due to weather constraints. The best part of Fall is Halloween. Meh. Eating butternut squash. Yes. But wearing new clothes in this new season is always a good idea. When wardrobing myself in the Fall, I am looking for plaids, patent, corduroy, and velvet for creative looks. I love using layers and new colors to my advantage and sweaters without coats. The best part of fall is finding the perfect Fall outfit to wear, especially before the cold of winter. Enlisting the help of Octer, I was... Read More

Black and White Basics

I am a big proponent of what is going on in fashion right now. Crushing over the velvet bug. Long dramatic sleeves. Tea length dresses with stacked heel boots. Plaid mini skirts. Blair Waldorf style. Mules. Boots. I love Fall shopping because its filled with lush fabrics, and loads of layers. As much as I love all that jazz, I love returning to black and white basics. Just like a French girl. I have a lot of fun getting dressed and finding just the right piece to wear. This black jumper from Zara was just the right find. It has fun pom poms on it, and has tan A-line shape. The white crop top from DKNY was a score at Super Saturday this past summer on a... Read More

Ruffle Mania

Fall est arrivé. Summer has abandoned us for cooler temps, shorter days, cozy sweaters, and butternut squash. I am also embracing my fondness for ruffles. Ruffle Mania has taken over the fashion world and I want it all. Change allows us to people forward and embrace the moment, but it never hurts to look back at the mistakes. In the words of Kanye, “you learn the most from your mistakes.” My mind, body, and soul, like most of us, has changed over the past five years. Change is good! And in the name of style, I have learned from many fashion mistakes. My flavor in fashion has run the gamut from wearing ill-fitting clothing just because they were cool, to embracing color that doesn’t fit... Read More
