NYFW 2016 Diary

New York Fashion Week was very special this season. The September dates coincided with my birthday festivities, and there was always a celebratory moment. This could either be a good thing, or a conflict of interest, but a party is a party. Am I right? I raced from event to show relying on Uber to take me around. I had minimal time to get dressed and do a quick change during the day. There were many wearable trends on the Spring Summer runway which I found truly inspiring. I can now declare the trends I want to take on myself. A personal cheat sheet. Below find my NYFW 2016 diary of my day-to day outfits. The thought process was limited here. It was more like “... Staying Motivated

I have summer on the brain. Work has been overturned by family obligations, summer’s end, and all the fun that brings. These past few weeks, I have been concentrating on everything BUT work or my to-do list. My body and my brain are telling me to take it easy, hence the lack of posting. The lazy days of summer have gotten the best of me, and I don’t feel bad about it. Now, when I start a project, I put on a timer, even for 35 minutes to jump start my productivity. Fighting to be effective doesn’t work. It is clear that I am having a hard time staying motivated. Let’s put a stamp on it, and enjoy the rest of summer’s bounty. If you... Read More

What to Wear in August

Though July is New York City’s hottest month, August offers little relief. Subway stations and crowded streets are hot and sweaty places, but they’re unavoidable for most New Yorkers. With long, sunny days and temperatures soaring into the high 80s and low 90s, you should make several wardrobe considerations. New York, in the summer, is a hot, and especially dirty city. For the duration of the summer, I will only stick to all-white as my uniform, as the city’s grime doesn’t bother me. When you’re wondering what to wear in August, take these cues. Put on a white dress, dress it up with a choker, and sandals. If you’re feeling good, try out some fancy footwork to add just the right touch. Forget about the dirt. Pack... Read More
