How to Style A Suit from Day to Night

With all the shindigs happening this time of year, it’s easy to get party-dress fatigue from seeing the same couple of concepts over and over: LBDs, turtlenecks, and especially sequins — lots of sequins. However, one of this year’s standout trends has nothing to do with how one’s outfit catches the light on the dance floor. Rather, it’s about texture. What’s soft to the touch and surprisingly adaptable to myriad silhouettes and options? A plush suit. Running to an office party after hours, you can easily throw on a dress. But how about something different? You know how much I love a good blazer. Take your 9 to 5 right into cocktail hour with a suit. Here is how to style a suit from day to night.  A suit... Read More

Home Inspired

I have been thinking a lot about what makes a home, a home. I am always out and about when the weather is warm, but when winter sets in, I can’t feel my fingers, and the lights of the holiday season are over, I would love a warm place to call home. I have been selectively looking at beautifully crafted objects i.e: furniture and pillow accents and have created a Houzz account to put my inspirations. My home needs some TLC and there are places to find great pieces if you just carve out some space and time in your life to start. Home inspired. One of my resolutions for 2016 is to invest more time into creating a wonderful living space.  Credits Nailed it framed... Read More

Global Fashion

If you love fashion and style like I do, then you know how good you feel when you hit the right note in the personal style department. Clothing expresses both who you are and who the designer is. If you can get dressed in a flash, know what looks good on your body, without following the herd of sheep, you got it made. Here’s the thing, it’s not easy. I take my fashion cues from street style, Instagram, magazines, and my daily life. I use those mediums as a creative space to find my style. I style myself in the mirror for a look that is just right for me at that moment. But sometimes, I fail with a capital F. We are human after all.... Read More

Cozy for The Holidays

‘Tis the season! I clearly embrace a time to dress up, especially for the holidays. There are parties, events, places to go, family to see, and gifts to bring. I am already tired just thinking about it. Does your daily routine require you to dress up or dress down? Although I love throwing on a great pair of heels, but I still have to work on my site, style clients, answer emails, care for my kids, and live my life. The gym? That probably falls by the wayside a bit. I try to stay active by running up and down the steps on the subway, which is a sure-fire calorie burn. Ha. Sleep? I am one of those people that without my beauty rest, I find it hard to... Read More

Classic Holiday Style

I have been thinking a lot about the holidays and what makes them special versus any other time of year. It has nothing to do with Cyber Monday, which just happened last week. I was chatting with a like-minded fashion friend of mine with an enviable wardrobe, about what she scored on sale. I was disappointed to hear that she only purchased a serving tray for her dining room and a few knick knacks for her home. It got me thinking a lot about the lack of interest in the public’s eye to snag a good deal. It was heart-breaking to learn that even me, The Fashion Hunter couldn’t persuade her to buy anything new even at 50% off. And, she trusts my judgement implicitly. Am I... Read More

Gift Guide for The Teenage Set

Happy Monday! My weekend away at the art fairs was filled with art, parties, and unfortunately, buckets of rain. So, now that I’m home, the holidays have kicked into full gear, and latkas are in the oven, just in time for the first night of Hannukah. Those who celebrate Hannukah, it began last night at sundown and lasts for a celebratory eight nights. When it comes to gifting, I have noticed over the years, that as my kids get older, buying gifts get trickier and trickier. Teenagers are not as verbal on what they want or need as a gift and some mind reading is often necessary. If your not a mind-reader or a psychic, which most of us are not, I have pulled together...
