The Best Boots Under $500

It’s true what they say, “a good pair of shoes should last you a lifetime.” As we all know, our feet change. The times change and those kitten heels that were once so ultra, are now so outré. Except, nobody has ever really worn the same shoes for ten years. If you live in a city like New York, you’re lucky if they last longer than one season. If we buy a great pair of boots, they should last you between five and ten years…if you take care of them. Boots should last more than one season, so that’s why I decided to round-up a group of twelve pairs of investment-worthy boots, on sale! that we will want to wear year after year. We all want to look fresh,... You don’t have to leave your house as the sales begin. Mobile shopping gets more popular every year as an alternative to going out. Adobe’s Shopping forecasts report predicts that 51 percent of purchases on Thanksgiving will come from mobile phones, likely made while recovering from a food coma on the couch. To be honest, I do not like to shop on Black Friday. At all. When people ask me to join them on their Black Friday shopping adventures, I adamantly refuse. I promise, I am not the fun party girl raiding the crowded stores. I wasn’t blessed with a whole lot of... Read More

Five Ways to De-Stress before Thanksgiving

It’s T minus 1 day, where T equals the most anticipated home-cooked meal in the country’s collective consciousness. But that doesn’t mean you have that long to morph into Martha Stewart and host a holiday party that would put a pilgrim to shame. Do everyone a favor and dial down the pressure on the whole she-bang. If you’re feeling stressed and flustered, that’s the vibe you give your gathering. And let’s face it, there’s enough drama around the holidays without party performance anxiety. Here are Five ways to de-stress before Thanksgiving. This is to keep you and your guests feeling — what’s that? — thankful for this occasion. 1. Listen to Adele. For those who watched it, “Saturday Night Live” showed that, regardless of political beliefs at... Read More

Holiday Gift Guide for the Hostess

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is T minus two days away. It blows my mind how time flies. It feels like yesterday was just summer, gone in the blink of an eye, when I was planning my bikinis to pack for extended weekends at the beach (currently on sale at Net A Porter) And here I am touting the Black Friday sales about to take place. Anyway, back to reality, today on the Fashion Hunter, I am sharing my picks for the incredible hostess that does all the work prepping for Thanksgiving. If so inclined, you can purchase them yourself. Because H&M is having a huge sale, duh, there is no time like the present (hehe) for a holiday gift guide for the hostess. I love... Read More

Wanderlust

I don’t need a reason to travel, I need an excuse. Our collective lives are constantly on the go, off to work, shuffling the kids, making dinner, food shopping, going to the gym, etc. Not to mention the financial piece that prevents us from traveling as much as we want. ( I found a few great sites to help lower travel costs.) You can’t take away a great experience and that is why traveling is so important. Sometimes I get a mental block and feel that I need a place to escape to stir up the creative juices. Until virtual reality becomes a thing, we need to hop on a plane and open up that creative block. Maybe it’s because I have seen Thelma & Louise... Read More

A Quick Escape

According to travel experts and our local news stations, the next few weeks promise to be a great time to get out of town for a quick jaunt before the start of the holiday season. Which means there is no time like the present to start thinking about your airport style and what you are going to put in that suitcase for a quick escape. I don’t spend an inordinate amount of time jet-setting across the globe, so when I get the chance to board a flight, I am all things go. Packing requires an extremely tight edit—regardless of how fabulous your accoutrements may be. I like to share my go-to essentials—everything from my carry-on suitcase, to an in-flight moisturizer (two words: La Mer)—as well as a parallel universe if you want to... Read More
