What to Wear for Thanksgiving

Ah, Thanksgiving. Everyone’s favorite holiday is almost here and I am so excited to see friends and family, have a turkey, and of course, eat far to much pumpkin pie. But that’s just the beginning. Here comes the ultimate dilemma: how do you look cute and put together, but still give yourself enough room for that “I’m so stuffed” feeling you’re guaranteed to have circa 7pm? It is a tough call but luckily I have plenty of comfortable-yet-chic looks that are perfect to wear for Thanksgiving day. Keep your Grandmother and your waistline happy, and partake in as much stuffing as you please. Here is what to what to wear for Thanksgiving. I thought about this for a minute. The fact is, your relatives don’t really care what... Read More

The Vest is Your Cold Weather Essential

I have a novel idea now that it’s getting cold outside: consider the “look at me” vest as your favorite piece to grab, the piece you go to, your new bestie. Then chalk up the purchase to unique personal style. According to Jason Wu, who sent an investment fur vest down his Fall runway, there is no time like right now than to invest in a vest, a trend that is likely to be more than common by the time next spring rolls around. Maybe you’ve noticed the hordes of street style stars sporting colorful fur coats, scarves, and stoles this season? Well, it looks like this trend is showing no signs of slowing down and I am loving it. From striped fur stoles to pastel furry... Read More

How to Prepare for the Holiday Party Season

Ohhh yes, it’s coming. I just put way all my Halloween decorations, Balmain X H&M madness ensued without me, Thanksgiving is around the corner, (you have to impress your guests), and I am already packing, albeit in my head, for the few trips I have planned before the end of the year. And, the holidays, and parties that ensue are around the corner. Phew! It’s never too early to start shopping. Consider items already in your closet, cue the warm and fuzzy pieces that you haven’t worn and pull them out for a spin. We are busy women so it’s 96% likely that when you have a party, an event to attend, you have 3605834 other obligations to consider. For example, you are invited to a last... Read More

A Suede Skirt

Suede mini skirts might just be my favorite part of the 70’s trend movement. The rich texture and colors are ideal for Fall, especially in a patchwork print. You might be thinking as I write this, there is no way can I wear this bold outfit. Trust me, you can. You just need some confidence to pull it off and little tug from me. If patchwork isn’t your thing, there are plenty of suede skirts in sold colors that will also be right on trend. A suede skirt can be worn with bare legs or tights when the weather gets nippy. I like to wear skirts in November knowing that my legs might not see the light of day until next Spring. It is clearly taking... Read More

From Paris With Love

Today’s inspiration hails from this editorial shoot of Malgosia Bela in the November issue of Vogue Paris. As I mull over my everyday uniform, I crave a wardrobe just like this with flared jeans, suede dusters, and long silhouettes. I also have had my heart set on finding a shearling coat for Fall/Winter. From Paris With Love is inspiring me to clean my closets even more and hopefully find a jacket similar tho the ones below.  Shop my sheepskin coats for fall below:

Crush-Worthy Velvet

November has arrived, and you know what that means? For the next two months, your calendar will be filled with many joyous occasions, Thanksgiving, office parties, and of course the holidays. I embrace this time of year, although definitely  not the cold, but the getting together with friends and family, the warm spirit, and the bright lights that shine upon city streets. And so, accordingly you will look into your closet and declare that you have nothing to wear for the occasion. This is where I, your fashion guru, come in. Right now is the perfect time to pull out all the stops in the wardrobe department with some crush-worthy velvet. Enter stage left. Want to be royals or not, say goodbye to the hideous crushed velvet... Read More

Spice up Your Fall Basics

Fall is great. The sun is shining. October is my favorite month, when these early days of fall make getting dressed so much fun. When you can look forward to jumping out of bed at 7am, that’s the cinch. New energy pumps through your veins. It’s like a rebirth of your soul. There’s the ponchos! The boots! The turtlenecks! The fringe! The suede! The new leather jacket! So. Many. Options. Let’s be honest with one another. how many black sweaters do you have? I can’t even (count mine). There, I proved myself right. that’s right folks. The fashion color wheel has turned and Pantone called it. Although the white and black infallible basics will always be there, adding color and experimenting is a great way... Read More

Last minute Halloween Costume Idea

The weekend is almost here, and that means it’s almost time for Halloween parties, costume celebrations, and monster bashes. While many of us have been carefully planning their costumes over the past few weeks, there are others of us *cough cough * who put planning to the last minute. Are you frantically digging through your closet in hope of some miraculously awesome costume for that last minute Halloween costume idea. I just got invited to a Halloween party tonight so I need a last minute Halloween costume. You are in luck because of all the holidays, Halloween is also the one night where any fashion girl can be extra bold — unicorn onesie anyone?, totally stylish — or skip the fuss completely and simply wear...
