Accessories Addition

I have been quite minimal on the accessories front as the invasion of normore has taken over my wardrobe but I am about to get it back. Here are some accessories thou shall not leave home without. Let’s call this the Accessories Addition. Jewelry. I am guilty of not having enough time to put on my rings, bangles, and necklaces due to summer laziness. Jewelry is just as important as white sneakers and brushing your teeth, so make sure those wrists and fingers are decked with flavor. Check out the new stuff at Michael Hill for inspiration. Belts for your waist. Be it a pouch, a rope, braided, whatever. Belts add dimension to your waist, your hips. They add a dose of sprinkles to your... Read More

Three Things to Wear Because It’s a Summer Monday

Ready or not, summer’s end is near. The days are a little shorter and the sunset is getting earlier every day. But, I am not about to give up my sun-kissed, bare-legged bliss so fast. I forgot how to wear regular pants. Let’s get to the point. That awkward period between summer and fall makes dressing particularly awkward – chilly mornings turn into hot days, which turn into even chillier nights. So on this beautiful summer Monday, yeah!, here is a chance to strut your stuff with three things to wear on a summer Monday! This crop top, this skort, and bridge the gap with an oversized yet tailored shirt like this particular one from Helmut Lang. This blouse will actually act as a jacket and keep... Read More

Vintage Dressing

Take a step outside. New York temperatures have hit the 90s, and we have officially entered a heat wave, nothing new for the month of August. Air quality alerts have been issued, heat indexes are clocking in at around 100 degrees thanks to the humidity levels. So what do we wear to stand out from the crowd? Vintage dressing is the only way to go, since stripping down and going nude on Broadway isn’t exactly an option, we have no choice but to get creative when it comes to dressing for daily life. To beat the heat, I rely on these three faithful Ls: loose, lightweight, and as little fabric as possible. I love the simplicity of a simple floral dress for an easy go-to look. Because, really, nothing is better than throwing... Read More

Fall Must Have Bags

Fine, I get that purchasing fall clothes is Not on your radar right now. It’s 97 degrees outside! Perfect time for that white summer dress. But the word on the street that  the summer is almost over is quite disturbing. These statements are based on nothing tangible. Retail does propel the economy. And the stores? They are filled with Grey! Burgundy! Black! Nope, still not ready. It may not be time quite yet to swap your tanks and shorts for scarves and sweaters, but it is time to start thinking about quick ways to revamp your look for the new season. How about with Fall’s must-have bags? Okay, I can accept this. I REPEAT: the summer is not almost over. Summer does not end until September 23, at... Read More

What You Want to Wear: Stripes and Denim

And Here’s How to Do It.  The last thing on my mind before I head out the door, is answering the question, what I am going to wear today? My daily decisions start with what daily exercise I am going to which consists of either a barre class, spinning, running, or surfing, and what ingredients what will be in my morning smoothie. Then I think about what garments will I put on my body? Here is how I get dressed in three easy steps. Wear stripes and denim to start. 1. Consider the uniform. I have mentioned this concept several times because it works. I have other decisions to make like what ingredients will go into my smoothie, or how to bite my tongue after... Read More

Summer Weekend

My husband and I took a long weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city and headed to Martha’s Vineyard. For me, the vineyard is a beautiful place to unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Strolls on near-empty beaches. Cracking open fresh a lobster. Picking fresh lavender (for free!) from a farm stand. Taking long walks that turn into hikes into the woods. Paddle boarding on the lake. Rock chilling on the beach. Bike riding for miles. It’s such a wonderful city escape. Martha’s Vineyard truly has that chill beach vibe, and I call it a hidden gem. I know this island is not a secret, but to me, it is magical. It is the perfect summer weekend. This is what... Read More
