Memorial Day Fashion

Memorial Day is on the horizon and with BBQ’s and friends and a super busy schedule, I want to keep my wardrobe simple. I am opting for a clean crisp white dress, all-black accessories, and a red bandana as a pop of color. It is also super easy to style an all-white dress. Throw on this cool denim jacket, a pair of heels, and some red lipstick and you will golden for a night out. This season I am opting for white — a big move over from black — which freshens my wardrobe and my skin tone. Whether it is short denim shorts, flowing sundresses or easy tank tops, there are many options for everyone. Red, white and blue give off a patriotic vibe, and denim... Read More

Macaron Heaven

Breaking a steady habit can be challenging, especially of it is a regimented and healthy daily food intake. But when the weekend rolls around, my body is craving the things it doesn’t get during the week: sugar and carbs. These cravings are serious, but sometimes chocolate doesn’t do the trick. I tried macarons but never loved them until I went to France. They were either cloyingly sweet, or just not worth the calorie intake. Macaron Cafe based in New York City turned me on to these amazingly yum Parisian treats, and with a café au lait in the afternoon, my sweet tooth was satisfied. Why not treat yourself once in a while, especially after a long week? I am especially fond of the matcha green tea... Read More

Frieze Art Fair

Have you finally recovered from Art Basel? Too bad, because it’s the Frieze Art Fair in New York City. Art Fairs are a gateway to introduce people to the world of art, and nowhere is that more prevalent than Frieze New York in Randalls Island. With just under 200 galleries split into four sectors — the main fair, the Spotlight section for solo booths, the Frame section for galleries established since 2007 showing one artist’s work, and the Focus section for galleries founded in or since 2003 — Frieze New York is a monster fair. Luckily it is also sited on a verdant stretch of Randall’s Island inside an airy and bright tent and boasts the best food and drink options of any art fair this side of the Atlantic. To me, going... Skinny Scarf

When you think of ultra-skinny scarves, visions of male rockers, notably David Bowie and Steven Tyler come to mind. Of late, the skinny scarf has had a mini revival and was on the Prada Runways for Fall, and Saint Laurent catwalk for Spring 2015. What’s so seemingly cool about this quite simple trend, is the effortless instant glamour, and only for a buck or two. I have been wearing them out at night with a blazer, seen here with wide-leg overalls, and with a classic shirt and jeans. I will most likely swap out my statement necklaces for now, because the skinny scarf is pretty much the most versatile thing you can add to your wardrobe this spring. See here how I styled mine.   Shop... Read More

Mothers Day

Mother’s Day is a day to celebrate the moms in our life. It is a time to shower her with gifts, and with love and lots of kisses. Mothers do a lot. As one of the tribe, we do so many things for our kids, and family, organizing schedules, and carpools, as one of the many daily tasks required of us. So let’s take a moment and reflect on what your mother does for you, and if you are a mom, reflect on all the good things you have. But just in case you have gasp! forgotten about mom, give her a call, visit her, and pick up one of these goodies. I am partial to candles and scrubs and body treatments right now. Also... Read More

The Net Bag

Now that the Met Gala, who won for best dressed, and all the after parties you weren’t invited to is over, you may want to start living in the here and now, and in the reality that, spring is officially here. The clothes that we wear on a daily basis are much less fascinating than what one would wear on the red carpet, but nonetheless, shouldn’t be boring. I have been slowly but surely making headway into cleaning out my closet, thanks to The Real Real and other sites and am only keeping items that I can use in various capacities. This includes men’s button down striped shirts, crisp white shorts, anything denim, and most of my shoes that will go in, go out, and come back... Read More

A Chocolate-Scented Scarf

There is not a piece of chocolate that I don’t like. Whether it’s a slab of 70% cacao dark chocolate from the jungle, or a decadent Hershey Kiss, I am in the majority in my love for chocolate. But instead of eating your calories, how about smelling them? We are creeping up on summer, and bikinis right? Fashion meet chocolate. Sound weird, a chocolate-scented scarf? Sure, but hear me out. Magnum Ice Cream and global fashion brand BCBGMAXAZRIA have joined forces to create the world’s first (purposefully, at least) chocolate scented scarf—the silky, chocolate-scented wearable wrap. The scent is incorporated into the garment using scent messaging technology, called oNotes, which allows users to curate fragrances and send them to friends. This is just the beginning of another step combing technology with fashion.... Read More
