A Guide on What to Wear Now in Early Spring

It’s difficult to fully wrap our heads around spring when we’re still in the thick of winter. But, walk into nearly any store and you’ll notice a fundamental shift in merchandise — from chunky knits, puffer jackets, and scarves to things that are decidedly not, well, warm. See: spring shoes / fringe. Spring is officially here although by the looks of my Weather Channel app, the snow is taking its sweet time to get out of town. The thing is though, once Spring does arrive, we will be more than ready to embrace the warmth and sunshine. Call it, Spring confusion. Until then, I am holding onto my winter wardrobe and trying to incorporate skirts without tights, turtlenecks with blazers instead of coats, and basically less layers. It’s... Read More

Strut Into Spring

The word in footwear this season is options. Of course there are trends, but it’s now OK to ignore them, wear what you love and forget what ever happened on the runways of last September. But we don’t want to do that. We want to wear what’s on point, on fleek. We still want information as to what show silhouettes we should keep and what to toss, what to save, what to look forward to wearing, and what to donate to the RealReal. So where does that leave you? Holding killer gladiator sandals or chic flats or both? Yup, we’ve all been shoe stranded. Consider this guide for your spring shoe shopping that might make your picks a bit more strategic. Spring Break

Last week I was in Miami for a few days taking a mini break from the cold weather. The sun and the warmth felt so good on my skin and body, I actually felt alive and not in constant hiding that I have been doing most of this winter. I spent some time with friends and family and it was great to get outside and just live. I take for granted the simple pleasures like the sun shine streaming through my window, grabbing a fresh juice on the run, and living life more spontaneously. I guess that’s beach living, and for now that is simply unrealistic, but maybe one day, it won’t be. Travel has inspired me to dance on the beach. Never underestimate the... Read More

Winter Blues

{Rewind to February 2015} Set Scene: New York Fashion Week. One of the bloodiest coldest days in New York City in over 50 years. Phones freeze over and radio announcers say  “Do not go outside unless absolutely necessary.” Going to fashion shows? Clearly a necessity. These were taken one day during a whirlwind roundup during a 20 minute break in-between shows. Without the help of my intern, and photographers grabbing me while I look halfway decent, my job wouldn’t get done.  Super sunglasses J. The Boho Chic Trend to Wear Now

Fashion moves extremely fast these days. And the speed of movement is quite authoritative to boot. Last year, I would have flipped the switch on normcore if I just had enough slouchy track pants, and a pair of adidas in my size, but I digress. Before I knew it, the state of nonchalant dressing went right through the proverbial window. As I flipped through Spring issues of New York Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, and other Spring fashion books, we are back in the wide leg 70’s, recreating the oh-so-hip 90’s, and hanging onto the wide shoulder pads of the 80’s. How can a fashion girl keep up? Hold onto your good stuff, it will return sooner than you know it. Today, I am jumping on the... Read More
