Street Style From New York Fashion Week

In case you feel like you have nothing to wear, yeah, it’s supposed to snow again today, and the winter doldrums are getting you down, don’t fret. I find the fact that these women can get dressed in below freezing temps and pull together these brilliant outfits in no time, quite fascinating. Check out this street style slideshow and click through for my favorite looks from last week in the bitter chill of New York’s streets. Let me know in the comments which ones you’re planning to copy. From Tia Cibani Fall 2015

Fashion week started last week over at Tia Ciabani’s presentation, where the past was very present. Situated in the ballroom of the Hotel Wolcott, antique-scented incense was served alongside a pianist who played in the background and it created the melancholy mood. The models had their hair piled high on their heads, serious, yet playful. Victorian velvet dresses and gowns were in muted shades of dusty rose and topaz. The tulip skirt was a key shape, either made from sculpted marled wool or pleated silks. My favorites are the wide-legged pants down below!

Embracing Easy Dressing

Hey New York! Accuweather showed up on my smartphone this morning, announcing “this will be the coldest week since 1994” ALERT! Wind Chill warning. The rest of the week looks the same with high and lows in the single digits with another chance of snow for Tuesday. I wonder why I live here on the North Pole. The trials of getting dressed on a normal day would be easy, I would throw on my Canada Goose and call it a day. But this is isn’t a normal week. It’s fashion week. What the f*ck am I going to wear?!? I know I am not alone. This notion will invariably prove frustrating for other Fashion Week show-goers, with plans of wearing profoundly colorful arsenals of not-quite-coats but not... Read More

What’s in My Bag for Fashion Week

During Fashion Week, between checking my feed on Instagram, Twitter, my show schedule, getting to and from events, and catching up with friends, it is easy to miss a few hours of sleep, let alone have time to sit down at my computer for a minute. To break it down, I keep a well-stocked handbag. What’s in it? Daily invitations, my schedule, a pen and notebook for taking notes, crucial snacks, gum, Advil, lipstick and concealer, and a charger. I trust this bag to take me from show to party to the after-after party without looking like I do at 7:30 the next morning, glowing and fresh. Uh Huh. Here’s a close-up of my bag and its contents. If only there was a way to... Read More

That Groovy 70’s Show

Bell-bottom jeans, soft suede, and billowy silhouettes, are as groovy as they were circa 1974, and I don’t hate it. The Me decade is making a comeback mostly in part due to fashion’s cyclical nature, and the fact that #normcore might just be boring. Miu Miu showed a strong collection for resort 2015 with psychedelic prints and big-framed glasses which I cannot wait to wear, but you can wear the trend now like I did down below, and designers like Chloe and Valentino have already started the freedom trend this winter. I pulled out some hip-hugger vintage cords out of my closet, a white turtleneck, a paisley vest, and vintage gold boots. I then notched a camel wool coat with a skinny belt and topped it... A Winter Uniform

I have been very lazy lately. And by lazy, I don’t mean not getting things done, and not checking things off the list. I mean in the fashion department. I have been wearing the same boring look day in and day out. My winter uniform consists of a turtleneck, a faux fur jacket, boots or pointy-toe flats, and a pair of jeans. #Normcore to say the least. Maybe it’s the lack of inspiration or just that these wears are comfortable. Either way it’s a good thing to not have to think about what I will put on every morning. Rather, it’s actually refreshing. Asos coat / Theory turtleneck / Topshop jeans / Saint Laurent black duffle bag / Touch gloves / Lanvin point toe flats... Read More
