Chris Benz S/S 2012
Chris Benz is a favorite among fashionettes. I have been seeing an abundance of acid neon colors, akin to highlighters, on and off the runways. Only a few designers can really pull it off. And Benz is one of them. Chris’ designs for the Spring 2012 collections are some of the brightest and daring out there. His line is sophisticated and chic while still being fun and whimsical. A tribute to Warhol played out in trippy florals and sixties-inflected prints in lime green, sherbet orange, and neon pink (to match the designer’s daring doo). As for the bright pink feather in my hair- I think I need to go even bolder! If your eyes aren’t already boggled by Benz’s designs, take a look at his optic black-and-white circular prints.
Do you think he was inspired by these?
What do you think of the super-fly orange lips?
One of my favorite aspects to the sheer nuttiness of New York Fashion Week is the more relaxed vibe of the presentation versus the runway show. Scrambling to find my seat, or a place to stand, the presentation allows a walk-through of the entire collection and a chance to mingle with other fashion obssessed bloggers, photographers, and editors.
A big shout out to Chris Benz for sharing your talents this way. BTW, kudos to the outdoor open bar that served icy lemon Vitamin water with a hit on a late summer evening—perfect!
love the neon! Especially love the beige as a combo with the bright colors. A winner. Also, looks like straight hair is out!
Steph! Love this… keep me in the loop!
