No.3 Pencil
In line with Monday’s enthusiastic post about pencil skirts, I felt compelled to present a collage that would paint one pencil skirt in three different ensembles based on the look you want to create. In case you haven’t cleaned out your closet and purged, it’s never too late. Peruse this post while in bed on your laptop and start shopping. It’s raining isn’t it? You will find down below a peek at some of the sheer incredible mash-ups happening in fashion right now (see mouse-eating bat sweatshirt, French bulldog stare, and the infamous breakup bag). Write that off as fashion magic. Just a click away.
From left: J. Crew Frenchie sweater because nothing is better than a little puppy love. Valentino ‘Rockstud’ clutch because well, who doesn’t want to be a Rockstud in red! to boost up all the black in your wardrobe? Dior riding boots, get a Jimmy Choo version here. Balenciaga Buckle Ankle boots are hot off the presses. J. Crew thigh-high socks. Get a few pair while you’re at it. Winter– it’s coming.
T by Alexander Wang tweed print hoodie. In case you haven’t noticed, sweatshirts have been making a huge comeback and not reserved just for le weekend. And nobody does the sporty hoodie in 50 shades of grey better than Alexander Wang. Nobody.
In my quest for that perfect pencil skirt, I am currently crushing on this Balenciaga black leather belted version. Flattering, albeit a bit pricey, this is the skirt for the everybody. If you are not going to go for the gold, go for the black. You might even be happier and better yet, it’s a keeper.
Zoe Karssen Bat sweater. At press time, this was sold out, but click on the link here to see other tongue-in-cheek graphic sweatshirts. They are definitely having a moment.
Phillip Lim 31 minute clutch bag for going everywhere. This bag is for all those 31 minute gigs that get squeezed into daily city life. Just throw your shit stuff into one bag. Nicholas Kirkwood lace effect boots will dress up anything including last night’s pajamas the t-shirt you just pulled out of your bureau. Done and done. Last but not least, Santoni Tricolour brogues, come complete with color blocking, chunky heel, and tassle. They complete the menswear thing going on. Dries. Prada. Yes, please. Right this way.
Wildfox sunglasses on top. Didn’t forget the shades.
With the 12 items featured above, I have created at least 40 theoretical outfits. Ultimately, you will only need those 40 or so outfits to get you through the rest of fall. I believe this version of shopping could be fun, and cost-effective. Vive le Pencil skirt and its many uses.
Happy shopping!
