Paris fashion week
The designers, the models, the press, the photographers, and the fabulosity that is Paris Fashion Week has finally calmed down and gone to sleep for a few minutes. I think it was that Kanye party that signified the pièce de résistance or maybe it was Marc Jacobs’ surreal train ride for Louis Vuitton. If you didn’t watch the Vuitton video you really should. Either way, the last runway show of the FW 2012 season has finally ended. The best part is yet to come, when I get to hash out and dissect some of the trends. Some that caught my eye? Oversized coats, funky furs, Baroque prints, slits everywhere possible, and apparently unlimited black leather. (See below pics.)

After sifting through numerous websites and photos, I stumbled upon this fabulous video done by former illustrator, current fashion blogger extraordinaire, and now photographer, videographer, and fashion consultant Garance Doré. Yes she is a multi talented superstar. She made this video during Fashion week in Paris and it really signifies what goes on behind the scenes with some of the top editors in Europe. They also tweet non-stop like me, would rather skip shows and watch them on their iPads from home (sometimes) and seem to make time to enjoy it all. Although fashion is intense and it takes a village to create a mountain, nothing is meant to be taken too seriously. Loren of French Elle, the Queen of social media, totally agrees with me. Fashion and technology have totally changed and meshed together and we need to embrace it, but we still need to live our lives. Doré knows when to work, when to blog, and when to laugh. Or so it seems. She is so inspiring to me. Watch Garance as she hops from Kenzo to Chloe to Franca Sozzani’s pad at Italian Vogue. Sometimes the best part of fashion and all its hoopla is when you can just sit back and enjoy the show. Au revoir!
