Seeing Stars
For a split second this spring, I was enjoying the warmish weather we were having. I stored all my woolens, cashmeres, angoras, and blends at the dry cleaners for the season. I pulled out my white and ivory dresses, white denim, shorts, and rainbow colored tees. Between the near 70-degree day and this week of 25-degree mornings of early April, the weather was starting to act a lot like an extreme dictator. My closet has become a war arsenal, battling the never-ending war of this odd weather pattern. During this irregular time, I like to equate getting dressed with an Etch-A-Sketch where I can essentially wipe out my look within an instant. Today, I put on four layers of black items and then took one off, wiped it out and added some white on top. If the sun won’t shine, I still won’t let the weather win this battle. The solution? Layer, Add white. Throw on a leather jacket over a maxi dress over a slip dress. This spring, the masculine feminine codes have been switched and Nine to Five now means Nine am to Five am which means daywear looks a lot like Saturday-night wear. I personally have a crush on all things stars, and this current motif is a nice addition to my wardrobe. Take a look at my favorite go-to easy to wear look, the little jacket over a dress. I am smitten, I am seeing stars.
