The Perfect Shirtdress

Denim speaks a universal style language. No matter where your travels take you, denim is always in. After all, what other garment has been so widely worn across decades and destinations? But, just because we all “speak denim,” that doesn’t mean every individual expresses it quite the same way.

One of my favorite pieces right now for the transitional weather is the denim dress. In fact, it is the easiest piece in my spring wardrobe. I am almost finished with a huge closet makeover getting rid of the stuff I have accumulated over the past decade that no longer works or fits but the easy dresses will stay. I love the ease of the one piece dress. Let it flow loose, belt it, pair it with boots, sandals, or flip-flops and you’re out the door looking oh so chic. Depending on my/ your mood, it can be boho chic, beachy, or off to work. Denim is your friend. Alexa Chung, the denim queen knows this quite well.

I paired my dress with a simple rope belt, a scarf tied around my neck Parisian style, and nude wedges.
