The Shorts Report

Hi ho, hi ho, its off to work we go. Although summer is a time to chill out and wear the bare minimum, most of us worker bees still have to sit at a desk and report to a boss. Um, HELLO..Money? Recently an advertising executive friend of mine said that although she would love to wear my featured ripped jorts to the office, under her wardrobe guidelines, it’s not happening. She would have to save those shreds for trips to the beach. My wheels started to turn as her sentiments on wearing that exact look to work would be a challenge. Because this is an ambiguous question, there will be ambiguous answers, therefore plenty of opinions. My answer? Ditch the skirt separates, and too-hot dresses, and push the style envelope with a pair of Bermudas. In case you haven’t noticed, they have been appearing in the past few runway seasons and they don’t seem to be going anywhere. This week in new ways to give your gams something to spray tan for: goodbye skirt, hello longer 2-inches-above-the-knee shorts. Paired with a crisp white button-down shirt, a prison-striped blazer, and a bright red satchel– here is an opportunity to rock this professional look to today’s client meeting. Will it work? In a creative work space? Me thinks yes. These ain’t no pajama jeans, freaks. And so:
