Vintage Dressing
Take a step outside. New York temperatures have hit the 90s, and we have officially entered a heat wave, nothing new for the month of August. Air quality alerts have been issued, heat indexes are clocking in at around 100 degrees thanks to the humidity levels. So what do we wear to stand out from the crowd? Vintage dressing is the only way to go, since stripping down and going nude on Broadway isn’t exactly an option, we have no choice but to get creative when it comes to dressing for daily life.
To beat the heat, I rely on these three faithful Ls: loose, lightweight, and as little fabric as possible. I love the simplicity of a simple floral dress for an easy go-to look. Because, really, nothing is better than throwing on a thin dress on these too hot to wear anything days. My advice? Forget black. Keep things light, in both fabric and hue.
I like wearing things that are unique and different and the only way to achieve that is to do some vintage shopping. It ain’t easy standing out amongst 30 million people. I achieve that by buying vintage as the chances of another soul owning what you own is a bit more scarce. Or at least look like you did. I like shopping on Vestiaire for a fresh perspective.
