Wanderlust

I don’t need a reason to travel, I need an excuse. Our collective lives are constantly on the go, off to work, shuffling the kids, making dinner, food shopping, going to the gym, etc. Not to mention the financial piece that prevents us from traveling as much as we want. ( I found a few great sites to help lower travel costs.) You can’t take away a great experience and that is why traveling is so important. Sometimes I get a mental block and feel that I need a place to escape to stir up the creative juices. Until virtual reality becomes a thing, we need to hop on a plane and open up that creative block. Maybe it’s because I have seen Thelma & Louise that many times. Or maybe I am so attached to my phone, that I find it hard to escape. I have a true case of Wanderlust.

What I do know is that I didn’t do it for Instagram. My friend threw a weekend birthday party away from the hustle and bustle in Anguilla, a stunningly beautiful Caribbean island. I fell for the people and the delicious seafood, not to mention the unbelievable sunsets from the infinity pool at the Viceroy Hotel.

A trip done well is one wherein you stumble across a great beach and skinny dip until the local police threaten to fine you. Or when the plans are poured over and fantasized about, but ultimately subject to spontaneous change when you realize that this seafood shanty is the best you’ve ever had.
